Welcome to the #MOON
The Mission: Bridging the Lunar Gap
As space exploration shifts toward sustainable lunar presence, the need for reliable, rapid, and realistic testing has never been greater. Current institutional facilities often require years of scientific justification and complex paperwork. Polimak Space changes the paradigm.
Our facility is designed for the modern space industry - startups, commercial entities, and research groups- who need to fail fast and learn faster. By providing a high-fidelity environment featuring 60 tons of scientific lunar regolith simulant, we allow engineers to test their hardware against the same challenges faced by the Apollo astronauts.
From mobility experiments with rovers to advanced ISRU (In-Situ Resource Utilization) demonstrations, #TheMoon is the platform where concepts become flight-ready hardware.
Accelerate your lunar mission hardware with Europe's first privately-funded 90m² surface simulation environment. No bureaucracy, just science !

Scientific Regolith
60 tons of high-fidelity lunar simulant. Engineered for realistic dust interaction, compaction, and excavation characteristics.

Lunar Lighting
Full facility darkening with high-intensity directional spotlights to simulate the extreme shadows of the lunar south pole.
Gravity Assist
Integrated mobile gantry system (500kg capacity) for active weight offloading, simulating 1/6th G conditions for mobility.

End to End ISRU Demo
Worlds first and only testbed that can deliver regolith handling services including excavation, conveying and feeding

Mission Scenarios & Validation
The #TheMoon facility is optimized for the most critical challenges of the lunar frontier. From dust mitigation to autonomous navigation, our environment validates your hardware for the ultimate deployment.
Rover Mobility & Traction
Test the mechanical limits of your rover. Evaluate wheel geometry, grousers, suspension efficiency, and motor torque against the unique slip characteristics of lunar regolith simulant. Our 17m test track allows for long-duration mobility cycles and slope-climbing validation.
Supports vehicle masses up to 500kg with gravity compensation.
The 'Dust' Challenge (ISRU)
According to the Apollo 12 Mission Report, lunar dust is a primary hazard to crew health and hardware longevity, with over 62 negative mentions. Our science-grade regolith allows for critical testing of seals, brushes, electrostatic repulsion systems, and excavation tools.
High-fidelity particle size distribution for realistic dust fouling.
Payload Deployment Trials
Verify the safe deployment of sensitive instruments. Use our mobile gantry to simulate the delicate handling required during lunar landing and instrument unloading. Perfect for validating robotic arms and payload interfaces.
Custom attachment points for gantry-based offloading.
Autonomy & AI Navigation
Develop and refine SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms. Our reconfigurable terrain—featuring trenches, craters, and boulders—provides the complex environment necessary for testing autonomous pathfinding and obstacle avoidance in real-time.
Full facility WLAN mesh for remote teleoperation data feeds.
Sensor & Optic Validation
Lunar optical conditions are brutal. Test LIDAR performance, stereo cameras, IR sensors, and radar in our darkened facility. Validate autonomous obstacle detection against the high-contrast lighting and ultra-dark shadows prevalent at the lunar south pole.
Integrated IR monitoring for thermal sensor validation.
Public Demos & Marketing
Located in Terminal 1 of Rostock-Laage Airport, our testbed offers high visibility. Use the facility for public engagement, investor demonstrations, or media production. Showcase your hardware to airport travelers and the international space community.
Public viewing area for open-science engagement.
